HOT SPRING PATROL. Burning Man has agreed with BLM that participants will not use the springs during the event as part ofour permit. The springs are little treasures in the wilderness and cannot handle but a few occasional people. Earth Guardians visit the springs during the event to let people know about the restrictions and protect the springs. Interested? Shifts are from 7-noon, noon-5pm, and 5pm-overnight, each day of the event. (email Hugh at <choppafreak@yahoo.com> for questions )
TOXIC AVENGERS To help us garner support to monitor the Burn Platforms - we've set up a multi-departmental group (the Toxic Avengers) to monitor the Burn Plaforms on Sunday (to make sure we don't burn items that release toxic fumes). Shifts are from 9-noon, noon-3pm, 3pm -6pm and 6pm-9pm. If you are interested in volunteering for this group - or have questions - please email toxicavengers@burningman.com for questions and come to the orientation meeting Friday at 11:30 am at the pavilion.
RESTORATION TEAM. Restoration, education, art and outreach will help heal the scars of past and present uses, making the event a net positive impact on the environment. This project will have intertwined branches at the Frog Farm site: Environmental Restoration: Rebuilding and enhancing impacted habitats around the Playa, channeling the energy and volunteer spirit of Burning Man participants, and Environmental Art: Creating interactive, site-specific art while learning, working and playing together.

MOOP PATROLS - What better way to reach out and get others to deMOOP as you go. Let's continue to generate excitement about MOOPing - can you pick up a shiny metal object on a dime? We go out each morning Wednesday - Sunday at sunrise (the earlier the better) and occasionally in the late afternoons . We'll be out at the trash fence and around the city. (email Tony at bumblebee@burningman.com for questions)
LNT GURUS - These are our in-house LNT experts. Before Burning Man, they compile cutting edge LNT information and send that inforrmation to participant groups. During the busy part of the event, they are on call for LNT presentations and problems. The team also helps to organize a LNT tour and Camp of the day contest during the event. Outgoing volunteers needed! LNT training required. - (email Karina at karina@burningman.com for questions or to schedule a visit )
WATER WORKS - Scientific explorers chartering their way to grey water bliss. These volunteers investigate, test, design and demonstrate grey water disposal and removal techniquest with the goal of inciting other burners to use them. Do you have an analytical mind, or can you at least dress like a scientist? (email Sarah at mtnyogini@hotmail.com for questions and read more about the project here. shifts will be 10am-2pm and 2pm-6pm each day.
